Dea Dia Organics has job openings for the 2010 growing season (April-October)!

Gain the experience of working on a certified organic, local farm and the opportunity to see firsthand the joys and struggles of producing food organically. We seek individuals who are hardworking, reliable, responsible, communicate clearly, follow directions, in good physical condition, work well independently and with others, interested in food and farming and have reliable transportation.

We are a certified organic farm in Grayslake, IL at the Prairie Crossing Farm. We grow a diverse mix of vegetables for two farmers’ markets in the northern suburbs of Chicago and our CSA program. We also raise hens & heritage pigs on pasture.

Farm Team: Work outdoors and get your hands dirty! Perform daily farming activities, including the following responsibilities:
• Seeding
• Greenhouse planting and watering
• Transplanting
• Cultivating/weeding
• Harvesting
• Washing & Packing
• CSA Packing
• Potential opportunity for additional hours at Farmers’ Markets.

Work Shares Position: Required commitment of 8 hours/week in field or at markets for 20 weeks from mid-June through the end of October.
